I paint scenes of their life in a manner that gives no hint of struggle or strife or the frustrations experienced by ordinary Parisians. I choose to recall, rather, the simple joys of living. In my pictures there is mostly beauty and life. The view is given a glimpse of Paris from the perspective of a happy child. Each of my works is intimate and personal and I try to convey a sense of peace and love. There is enough ugliness and violence.”

More about Michel DelacroixMichel Delacroix was born in the 14th Arrondisement of Paris on February 26, 1933. He was educated at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. After two years there, he interrupted his studies temporarily and set out to explore the streets of Paris. During this time Delacroix briefly worked in set design, and for a short while he worked with the great mime, Marcel Marceau. Eventually he returned to finish his studies, and after graduating became an art teacher. With time, he established his unique style and went out on his own, to create his internationally renowned images.
